Cookham Dean pulled off a shock in the preliminary round of the Julian Cup against Division 2A side Marlow on Tuesday night.
Cookham batted first and posted 125-7 with most of the batsmen making good contributions, including
Rob Mettler top scoring with 28.
Chris Nunn took 4 top order wickets but Simon Carter and G Lines combined in the middle overs and looked likely to take their side to victory. When these two fell, the latter retired due to Julian Cup rules, the innings subsided thanks to the death bowling of Mettler and
Christian Austin.
This 11 run win sets up a 1st Round meeting with Holyport on the 31st May with CDCC hoping to avenge last year's hammering.
