RORY MILLAR SCORES MAIDEN CENTURY AS 2NDS DRAW

05 Jul 2009

Away at Royal Ascot 2s, Cookham Dean 2s were unable to take the final wicket as the hosts hung on for a draw. Cookham won the toss and batted first, and despite an early wicket, Cookham made 271-7 in 51 overs mainly due to Rory Millar batting through the innings for 135* - his first ever century.

In reply, early wickets fell and when the 4th wicket partnership between Bennett (51) and Bennyworth (42) was broken, wickets started to tumble and Royal Ascot found themselves 171-9 with 10 overs to play. However, we were unable to get that final wicket so for the second time this season, we have had the opposition 9 wickets down. Ollie Freeman and Aaron O'Donoghue were the best bowlers with both claiming three wickets each.
