TWO MORE WINS FOR THE DEAN

Cookham extended their unbeaten Thames Valley league run for a fifth week as both sides picked up crucial wins.

The Firsts moved up to 3rd in the table after a four wicket victory over Thatcham Town 2nds. Thatcham posted 236 after a lower order fightback with Amit Patel claiming 3-51.

In response George Edlin and Ben Millar gave their side a great start with innings of 44 and 73 respectively. After their departures Cookham could easily have folded but Clive Lambden held his nerve with a fine innings of 83 not out as Cookham picked up their third win of the season.

The 2nds moved to the top of Division 6A after a thrilling 31 run victory over Teddington Town 2s in the last over. Cookham batted first and posted a competitive 166 for 9 with Mark Fish top scoring with 54. In response Aaron O'Donoghue was the pick of the bowlers with 4-29, fittingly he took the final wicket to earn Cookham victory.

Meanwhile on Sunday, the 1st team were on the receiving end of a nine wicket defeat to British Airways while the 2nds claimed a comfortable win over Egham Roses, Chris Kellaway top scoring with 85.
