Simon D'Ardenne was tonight handed a shock First XI recall for the the TVL 3B clash against Chalfont St Peter. D'Ardenne who was initially left out of the 2nd XI game against Harefield 3s last week struck a solid 13 batting at number 3. Clearly, 1st team skipper Pres Patel saw this as enough to earn D'Ardenne his recall. It is also thought that D'Ardenne's apparent 'character form' during CDCC's innings on Saturday was a crucial factor in his recall. It is likely that D'Ardenne himself will be shocked at such developments as he was recently touting himself and attempting to recruit for the upcoming 3rd XI fixtures later this season. This news means that Dave Brooks drops down to the 2nd XI and looks set to keep wicket. In other news, key players Imran Butt and Clive Lambden return while Jake Richardson and Nick Borland sit exams in Birmingham and Oxford (Brookes)respectively. Rory Millar hopes to shake off his mystery illness after missing last week's victory over Reading 3s.
