WEEKEND TEAM NEWS
08 Aug 2008
This Saturday the two Cookham sides will be hoping that the weather holds off for their respective Thames Valley League games against Chalfont St Peter 2s and North Maidenhead 3s.
The 1sts make one enforced change as Tom Bibby returns for Clive Lambden. Sawan Gandesha is also expected to move up the order to number three. Sawan has struggled this season for the first team but impressive knocks in recent weeks for the Sunday sides have meant that skipper Pres Patel hands him another chance to reclaim a top order berth. The 1st team will desperately be hoping for a win in order to keep their promotion hopes alive against the second bottom side.
The 2nds make two changes with skipper Shaun Glover and Mark Fish returning with both Andy Pett and Rob Mettler away. Andy Murdoch is expected to keep wicket after an impressive performance behind the stumps against Ruislip. The 2nds will be looking to pick up a win that will all but confirm their Division 6A status for next season.
The Sunday 1st team travel to Royal Household on Sunday and look likely to line up like this: Mike Cutting, Pres Patel, Tom Bibby, Ben Millar, Christian Austin, Tim Hipgrave, Imran Butt, Paul Farnborough, Ollie Freeman, Mark Fish and Mark Powell.
Jonathan Gay is in charge on the Sunday 2s home game against Old Berkely and hands a debut to former North Maidenhead and Boyne Hill colt Tommy Wall. The side looks likely to line up as: Dave Brooks, Sawan Gandesha, Jake Richardson, Jonathan Gay, Aaron O'Donoghue, Tommy Wall, John Gay, Mark Anderson, Tony Cairns, Charlie Bond and Mike Knowles-Leak.
Andy Millar's Sunday side have the tough trip to British Airways and will be looking to put one over on a club that has beaten Cookham Dean five times already this season! This side includes, Andy Millar, Rory Millar, Arun Brar, Sim Dhesi, Richard Bibby, Dave Hazell, Paul Taylor, Chris Kellaway, Aden Sehota and Patrick Castleden.
Sunday sides are subject to change...
