After winning the toss and bowling first, the first team were unable to beat Reading 3s despite having them 76-5. From this position, Cookham relaxed and after a large 6th wicket partnership, the visitors reached 256-7 in their allotted 52 overs.

The reply did not start well with Ben Millar being dismissed in the first over. Wickets fell at regular intervals and the run rate started to slip a long way behind the required rate. A Reading victory was still unlikely and Chris Nunn (70*) ensured the game would be draw, as Cookham finished on 209-7.
