DEAN STILL UNBEATEN

02 Jun 2009

Cookham Dean's Saturday sides remain unbeaten following draws against Teddington Town and Maidenhead and Bray 3rds respectively.

The First team played out a high scoring draw at home to Teddington Town on Saturday. Teddington smashed 276-8 in 50 overs, Simmonds and Patel both making half centuries. Sav Gandesha claimed four wickets. A Cookham win never looked likely despite the decent start openers Ben Millar and George Edlin gave their side. Tom Bibby continued his fine form with 56 as the home side ended on 222-5.

The 2nds came agonisingly close to a win away to Maidenhead and Bray 3rds. On a difficult wicket Cookham managed to post 219-9 with Andy Pett top scoring with 46 not out, Chris Nunn and Shaun Glover also made decent contributions. Bray lost wickets at regular intervals but the Dean couldn't quite make the final breakthrough as they ended on 193-9 with the wickets shared around.

On Sunday the 1st team were on the receiving end of a heavy defeat to Sonning while the 2nds won comfortably by 7 wickets in pursuit of 200 against West Wycombe. Jake Richardson plundered his third century of the season.
