Cookham Dean put in decent performances at the weekend, finishing with two wins and a defeat. On Saturday, the First team eventually lost by 28 runs to a strong Maidenhead and Bray side but put in a decent performance. Imran Butt and Nick Borland tore into the Bray top order and quickly reduced them to 38-6, a lower order fight back however guided the home side to a decent total of 207-8. On his Cookham debut, George Edlin made a useful 40 and there were also contributions from Sav Gandesha and Tom Bibby. Ultimately, however, the Dean fell short as they made 179-9. The Seconds managed a win against the same club in Richard Bibby's first match in charge. Bray batted first and posted 167-9 from their 40 overs. The wickets were shared around with Andy Pett taking three and Mark Anderson claiming two. In response Cookham lost Patrick Castleden early on but Jake Richardson and Rob Mettler batted well together and both made 32. The match-winner however was Tim Hipgrave as he made 45 before being run out, Cookham eventually won by 3 wickets. The Sunday side had an easy victory against Turville Park at Ricketts Field. Jake Richardson slammed 157 which included 22 fours and 4 sixes. Cookham made 260 with Turville only making around 130 in response, Ian Mettler was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets.
