Cookham Dean Cricket Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Jon Stewart as Director of Cricket. Jon has a long association with Cookham Dean Cricket Club and will have a wide-ranging role aimed at improving the standards of all ages and levels throughout the Club.
Jon is a vastly experienced and highly qualified coach.
‘Having played for CDCC and had 2 children as part of the colts system, it is certainly a club that is dear to my heart, and I am really pleased to accept this role. I have several different objectives, from participation to performance, and ranging from our youngest colts right through to the Men and Ladies 1st teams. I hugely buy into the club’s ethos of organic growth and believe that if we keep the steady stream of quality colts moving into adult cricket (and beyond) the club will continue to go from strength to strength. " JON STEWART
This will be the first time CDCC have employed a Director of Cricket and Chairman Ian Davis believes every area of the Club will benefit.
’Jon is a huge talent with experience across all levels of cricket. He will bring an impressive wealth of knowledge as we look to improve all levels of CDCC cricket, from the Colts to the Women's team through to the Senior teams.’
Club Captain Ben Millar welcomes the appointment and is looking forward to working with the new Director of Cricket.
‘Our current crop of players know Jon well and vice-versa, and it is evident how first team performances have improved as Jon’s involvement has increased. We’ve been the form team in the league since week 6 and can look forward to taking that momentum into 2024. But this appointment is not just about the first team, it’s about building a proper pathway all the way through the club.’
Jon takes up his role with immediate effect.
