The Club is very sad to advise that a long standing member of the Club Gerry Charles has recently died.
Gerry Charles, a retired PE Teacher, played for the club from the 1970s. He was an adhesive left hand bat and effective medium swing bowler over 3 or 4 paces and enthusiastically assisted coaching the Colts for a number of years. He also played County level rugby and golf at Winter Hill.
He was very active in the Cookham Community, as a British Legion volunteer and Chairman and Fixtures Secretary of the Odney Club which started the long happy association between the two Clubs.
He was a Supper Club stalwart noted for telling stories but forgetting the punchline.
A modest kind man who provided great support to the Club who will be greatly missed by all.
Our thoughts are with Angie and their sons David and Jeremy.
There will be a memorial service for Gerry at Holy Trinity Church Cookham at 2.30 on the 13th of September.
