FIRST XI REACH LAST 16 OF NATIONAL VILLAGE CUP

19 Aug 2020

For the first time since 2016, the 1st XI are in the last 16 of the National Village Cup! This was following a narrow two-wicket win over Hampshire champions, Sarisbury Athletic, who reached the semi final stage last year. The win was clinched by a 6 from Will Dempster after a lower middle order collapse almost saw the game slip away. A match report from Sunday's game can be found here.

On Sunday, 12pm start, we will face Gloucestershire champions Frocester who progressed after winning 2-0 in a bowl out against Yelverton Bohemians (Devon) after their game was rained off. Last season they finished 3rd in the Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Division of the West of England Premier League. This is the equivalent of Home Counties Division 2 so we are anticipating a tough match. The winners will travel to the winners of North Perrott (Somerset) v Pentyrch (near Cardiff) next weekend.

We hope to see as many supporters there as possible to back the team! Our (socially-distanced) bar will be in operation and pizzas from Farina will be available.
