FIRSTS & SECONDS CONTINUE TO PUSH FOR PROMOTION

13 Aug 2018

With just three weekends of the league season to go, both the first and second teams continue to challenge for promotion from their respective divisions.

Despite Saturday's five-run defeat at home to Gerrards Cross, the first eleven are 26 points clear at the top of Thames Valley League Division 1 and are in a strong position to gain promotion to the Home Counties Premier League (Div 2) for only the second time in the clubs history. However there is still plenty of work to do with a tough run in which starts with a trip to Falkland on Saturday before a huge game the following week away to title challengers Cove.  The final game of the season is a local derby at home to Boyne Hill who currently sit in mid-table.

After Saturday's 121-run win at Hillingdon Manor, the second team are now unbeaten in their last five games and currently sit in second place in Thames Valley League Division 4b.  Promotion is now in our hands but with third placed Taplow level on points (we are ahead of them due to more games won) it is incredibly close and promises to be a very tight end to the season.  Next up is a home game to North Maidenhead 2s before another home game the following week against Slough 3s.  We then travel to Wraysbury on the final day who are already champions of the division.
