See below from Mike Clark, one of the organisers of Rock the Moor. If anyone is able to help, please let a CDCC committee member know.
2018 will be the 10th in the unbroken series of Let’s Rock the Moor concerts in Cookham. Whilst the “Let’s Rock” brand has been launched all around the country, the concert on the Moor remains unique in two vital aspects.
Every penny of profit is donated to charity. In 2017 that meant that we gave away £46,200 to national and local charities.
We still rely on the help of the local community to make it all happen.
We are once again looking for a start-up team to get the show on the road before the professionals are let loose. From 7.30 a.m. until about 12.30 p.m. we need people to take control of the vehicle and pedestrian entrances and to start the car parking process. The date conflicts with both the Royal Wedding, so Meghan can’t join us this year, and the beginning of the cricket season, but I hope that you may be able to encourage two or three members of the club to help out this year – early release willingly given for cricketers! As always, each volunteer will be given a free ticket to the concert.
