Cookham Dean Cricket Club News story

FIRST TEAM PREPARE FOR CRUNCH GAME

04 Sep 2008

The 1st XI go into their clash with top of the table Hayes knowing that ten points will secure their place in Division 3 for the 2009 season. The Dean's other promotion rivals Slough 3s travel to relegated Bagshot 2s, Windsor 2s are away at Finchampstead 3s while OMT will be handed 20 points if Chalfont St Peter 2s fail to show again.

The team news sees Ben Millar return to the top of the order after missing last week's dramatic clash at Windsor due to a trip to Kenya. Key players Chris Nunn and Imran Butt also return to the side but Dave Brooks is away. With Clive Lambden confirming that he cannot play, Rory Millar earns a recall and may even don the gauntlets...

1st team for Saturday vs Hayes: B. Millar, T. Bibby, S. Gandesha, I. Butt, P. Farnborough, C. Austin, R. Millar, A. Patel, C. Nunn, T. Rosenthal, P. Patel.

It would be great to see as many people as possible supporting the 1st team on what will hopefully be a great day for the club!

1st team skipper Pres Patel is also organising food for after the game. Instead of the BBQ from earlier in the season it's likely to be some sort of curry.

The 2nd team travel to Hayes in a mid-table clash with little more than pride riding on it. Jonathan Gay and Mike Cutting were out of the side briefly until Clive Lambden confirmed his unavailabilty meaning Rory Millar moved up to the 1s and a back injury which ended Richard Bibby's chances of playing and potentially his chances of being 2nd team leading wicekt taker as well.

The 2nd team lines up like this: J. Richardson, O. Freeman, A. Brar, S. Glover, A. Pett, M. Cutting, J.Gay, M. Fish, R. Mettler, N. Borland, I. Frankland
