TWO DEFEATS & ONE WIN FOR SUNDAY SIDES

14 Jul 2008

A mixed day on Sunday for CDCC with two defeats and one victory.

At home, the seconds won by 18 runs against Hillingdon Manor with Sawan Gandesha and Simon D'Ardenne were the best of the batsmen while Charlie Bond, Jamie Andrews and Arun Brar made important contributions with the ball.

The Firsts lost by 15 runs to Hillingdon Manor despite Tom Bibby's 86. Mike Cutting was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets.

The most incredible result of the day came at West Wycombe however as the other second team somehow managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Chasing 178 for victory, Cookham were cruising at 168-3 after Jake Richardson had scored 94. His departure saw a ridiculous collapse however and the visitors ended up at 173-9, losing by four runs.
