UNDER 17s FINALLY WIN

10 Jul 2008

Cookham Dean under 17s have won their first game of the season against Windsor by 17 runs. It was the teams 6th and last game of the season, and although it was their first victory, they could have won a few more as they came out the wrong end of a few games. Cookham batted first and got 117-5 in their 20 overs, with Daragh Doyle top-scoring with 45, and he was ably assisted by 14-year old Patrick Castleden who finished on 26 not out. In reply, Windsor were cruising until captain Rory Millar (3-14) got the break through. From here, Windsor kept losing wickets, particularly after the introduction of Mani Saundh and Tom Wells-Cole, and were eventually bowled out for 100, 17 runs short of Cookham's total.
