Match report James Taylors fine run of Captaincy wins came to an abrupt halt at Eversley today. Put into bat, "great white hope" Jake Richardson went early for 2 , Yesh left one that clipped his off stump and after some fine bowling from Ellis who took 4 fer Cookham were struggling. The wickets continued to fall however a good knock of 30 from the ever growng Matt Dilley and some belligerence from Andy and Tanish meant that Cookham stumbled their way to 119.

In reply J Taylor, (literally salivating at the fact it was not 100 degrees) gave a masterclass in swing bowling and after catches from Luke and Alfie it looked like there was a game on. Dilley took another but Campion and Heywood batted well and chipped away at the total and despite Luke Cairns bowling Roberts, Urath ( who was only batting because his Dad kindly retired) along with the excellent Campion ( a slightly bigger version of Alfie) saw the home side to victory.

Taylor reflected that he "had to lose one" sometime..................."roll on next week and hopefuly another greentop". He will also be buying "new best friend" Luke Cairns a bag of Haribos in honour of his magnificent catch.
