Match report A hugely enjoyable match played in lovely weather and surroundings against a very nice team at a friendly and welcoming club.

Captain Jack won the toss and decided to bat. Finn (10) and Rugved (7) saw off the opening bowlers. James (28) and Harry (10) then took it on to a solid base of 44 for 3 halfway through the 10th over, when Jowan (33 ret) joined James and the two of them set about the bowling to put together a partnership of 62 off just 41 balls. With contributions from the lower order, by the end of the 20 overs we had reached 131 for 7 -- a very decent score and our third match in a row where we have scored over 115 runs.

When White Waltham batted the boys were very focused from the start with good encouragement of teammates and excellent anticipation and backing up in the field. In the first over a sharp piece of fielding by Jowan and Ryan ran out the captain before he had faced a ball and then Ryan clean bowled his opening partner the next ball, at which point WW heads went down a bit. The boys bowled a tight line and length to rack up 7 maidens between them, with Finn and Sashank registering a double-wicket maiden each. Rugved took his first ever wicket, and Jowan, Lunn and Ryan were particularly miserly giving up only 6 runs in 8 overs combined, but all the bowlers bowled well and were supported by good fielding -- a great team performance. The last wicket pair managed to bat 6.5 overs to prevent WW being all out and take them to 69 for 9, a win for Cookham by 62 runs.
