Match report At last - a win! Inspired by guest appearances from Zac Lloyd, William Hancock and the Berks wicketkeeper (Alfie), the boys upped their game all round and registered a good win over a strong Great Kingshill side (they beat Wendover last week). After being put in to bat we lost Eddie early to their captain Prabhaz (3 for 8) but then we had a series of good partnerships between Lashvein (18), Hanson (33 ret.), Alfie (31 ret.), Jowan (6) and Jack (8). Although we only managed 9 runs off the final 4 overs in the face of some tight bowling, that gave us an eminently defendable total of 123 for 5 from our 20 overs.

In reply, the boys bowled well and were sharp in the field, making scoring difficult and leading to three run-outs (William x 2 and Lunn). The revelation was Jowan, freed from wicketkeeping duties, who turned in a masterful performance taking 5 wickets for only 7 runs bowling spin for the first time ever in a match. Thomas got in on the act with a wicket too, and Kingshill were restricted to 95 for 9 from their 20 overs, a win by 28 runs.

Well done to the boys, and thanks to Alfie, William and Zac for helping out and playing so well.
