Cookham Dean Cricket Club Lost by 127 runs

Match report A difficult match against a very strong Chesham side featuring several Bucks U12 county players ended in a resounding defeat by 127 runs.

After being put in to bat, Chesham lost a wicket in the first over to an excellent ball from Hanson and another (ironically the twin brother of the first) in the final over by Marcus, but in between four batters reached the retirement score of 30 runs as Chesham ran up a score of 166 for 2 off their 20 overs. There were quite a few no-balls bowled due to the difficult run-ups on the newly laid artificial wicket at Odney. As well as the two wicket-takers I thought our best bowlers on the night were Ryan and Thomas.

In reply, we were all out for 39 runs against some accurate and sometimes fast bowling. Hanson top-scored with a confident 14 runs before being run out and Harrison provided solid resistance for 28 balls. The side were captained nicely by Jack, who had a well thought out batting and bowling plan.
