Match report We managed to dodge the showers at High Wycombe last night to play out an enjoyable high-scoring match on a small pitch with a fast outfield. Captain Harrison won the toss and chose to make the best of the daylight by batting first. Runs came quickly, mainly via extras, but wickets also tumbled so that we were 28 for 3 after 4 overs. Lashvein (22) then steadied the ship after the opening bowlers had been seen off, putting on 21 runs with Harry (9) and 23 with Jowan (11). Then Jowan "Boycott" carried on to put on big stands of 31 with Finn (12) and Sashank (13) all the while letting the extras continue to mount up. At the end of the 20 overs we were 130 for 7 - our best batting display of the year against a good bowling attack.

In their reply, however, Wycombe found scoring even easier to come by. Thomas took a good catch off Sashank to claim an early wicket, but then Bill (31 retired) and Sophie (20) were difficult to bowl to with a damp ball, hitting a number of boundaries. Billy's retirement though was immediately followed by 2 wickets and we had some momentum at last. The screw was turned through tight bowling, but Wycombe managed to grit it out and keep enough wickets to get to their target in the 14th over. The pick of the bowlers were Lashvein (2 for 13) and Thomas with his cunning fake-spinners (1 for 2). Some really good fielding and backing up too.
