Match report Finchampstead won the toss and put Cookham in to bat on what looked to be a good batting track with a very fast outfield. George K (53 n.o.) and Iwan (22) got us off to a flying start with 77-0 off the first 7 overs. Zac (13) and Paul (22) took things on, but the spinners coming on made things tougher and slowed down our progress while wickets started to fall. Everyone chipped in a bit and got us up to a good total of 158-8 off our 20 overs.

In reply, Finch struggled to get going against some tight bowling and lost a couple of early wickets. Although they steadied themselves and started to pick up some pace they never looked likely to catch back up to the run rate and ended up 31 runs short even though they only lost 3 wickets. There was some good bowling and great fielding, with many runs saved by athletic chasing round the boundaries.
