Match report We visited the Slough ground tonight with a slightly stronger team than when we played them a few weeks ago in the cup and Slough also fielded a much younger team. With this in mind we were feeling confident of a strong result.

The night started well when everybody in the great Net facility that Slough has a good 15 mins before the game. Big thanks to all the parents for getting the boys to the ground 30 mins before play started, it makes a big difference for the boys to have a good warm-up before they play.

Slough won the toss and elected to bat.

It was great to see Rafa make his debut for the u15s and the young Slough team were taken back a bit by the pace of our opening pair (Raf/Toby L). However, Slough made a solid start and reached 45 off 9 overs and were looking at a total in excess of 100. Tom Beard and Kieran Mistry then bowled a couple of really tight overs with only 7 runs coming off the next 4 overs. Kieran D made the breakthrough for the first wicket and after that, the runs dried up (some good bowling and tight fielding) and wickets fell at regular intervals during the remaining 7 overs. Kieran D, Freddie Yuill and Ted Salter bowled really tight during the last few overs and ended up with great figures.

A special mention to Flynn Mulcahy who made his debut for the u15s and kept wicket brilliantly, only giving a couple of byes. A fantastic effort, as he would rarely have kept to the pace that the boys were generating tonight.

So we needed to get 82 to win.

Kieran and Taine opened the batting and at one stage it looked like that they might get the full 82 without losing a wicket. But Kieran got out to a ball that "kept low", or so I was told a few times on the way home!

Taine had his eye in tonight and batted fantastically to reach 50 NO and was particularly brutal against one of the Slough spinners, hitting him for 4 consecutive 4s!

Max and Toby saw us through to the end and it took just 10.3 overs to reach the 82 runs required.

A really good all-round team performance, and CDCC is starting to show the depth in strength we have as we were missing 7/8 boys tonight but were still able to field a fairly strong team.

Thanks to Dave for scoring (looks very neat and tidy :-)), thanks to Geeta for the Samosa's, they were lovely :-).
