Match report For once a lovely evening for a game of cricket and Odney is a great place to watch cricket on such Summer evenings :-). The boys didn't disappoint and put in a strong performance to beat a very plucky Sonning and Charvil team. Kieran Mistry was captain for the night and took the bold decision to bat first, this proved an inspired decision as Will and Taine got us of to a flyer and put on 77 runs in just 8 overs for the first wicket stand. The artificial pitch wasn't making batting easy, but the boys kept up the good work of the openers and raced to 188 off our allocated 20 overs. A number of good performances but special mention to Will (51 NO) and Tom (46) but as you can see below there were a few good performances.

Kieran showed the type of captaincy that Eoin Morgan would have been proud off (thinking about Joe Root getting Chris Gayle out in the first over of the World T20) and opened the bowling with Frazer, who duely delivered and got a wicket with his 2nd ball, I think the boys doing nets at CDCC would have heard his dad's yelp of delight :-). Much like Sonning we found the bowling conditions to be tough but our fielding and backing up was good again and great to see James and Barney throwing themselves around the field turning certain 4s into singles or 2s. Kieran ensured a lot of boys bowled (8 in total) which was the right thing to do and in the end we restricted Sonning and Charvil to 125 in their 20 overs. So a good win but we face much tougher games Monday and Tuesday next week.
