Match report Cookham Dean 2nds dropped down to second place in Division 5b but did claim a creditable draw away at fellow high-flyers Aldershot 2s. With captain Arun Brar away, stand-in skipper Dave Brooks lost the toss and Aldershot had no hesitation in choosing to bat. The Dean were also to play the game with 10 men after the late withdrawal of Isaac Richardson with illness.

Bell was to prove the mainstay of the Aldershot innings, surviving a few chances on his way to 109. No other batsman could match his stay at the crease but plenty of batsman posted double figures to contribute to an imposing score of 238 for 8 in 48 overs. Wickets were shared around with Adam Barratt and Jayson McAlpine claiming two each while Richard Bibby was particularly tireless and economical but had just the one wicket to show for it.

Cookham lost Brooks and Ben Green early on but an entertaining partnership between Jake Richardson and Sav Gandesha showed promise before Gandesha was caught for 23. This brought McAlpine to the crease and after initially struggling to find his range he eventually began to bat more freely while Richardson continued to plough on. Hopes of an unlikely victory were raised but the departures of McAlpine (71) and Richardson (88) meant that Cookham settled for a draw and finished on 218 for 6.
