Another T20 and another humdinger going right to the very last ball saw Cookham Dean lose agonisingly to Braywood.
Braywood won the toss and unsurprisingly batted first with Wing and Nunn putting on 45 in the first four overs. They were ably assisted by Australian Kerrod Burton who was off his game and his deliveries were more akin to grenade throwing in the Somme trenches as opposed to bowling.Mcalpine and Powell steadied the ship with excellent spells before the entrance of "superstar spinner" Johnny Gay who with guile and cunning contemptuously smashed his way through the batting line up with six wickets in three overs including a hat-trick...........a truly heroic performance. Clive also deserves a mention for a great game behind the wicket with three stumpings.
Set 146 to win the Dean made a great start with Jake Richardson and Harry Moseley both achieving the 25 and retire target early. Clive Lamden however gave away his wicket cheaply and after that the middle order all got to double figures but frustratingly could not quite get the scores required and needing 8 to win in the last over, frustratingly just came up short!
Next up Windsor Great park - Let's stuff them!
