Match report Cookham Dean recorded a convincing 37 run victory away to Pinkneys Green in the midweek T20 league.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat, opener Dave Brooks went early followed by Lamden before Jake Richardson took the game by the scruff of the neck hitting 29 (including a juicy bigun)before retiring under league rules as Cookham looked to build a solid total. There were minor contributions from the middle order but wickets fell before a steady partnersip between Chrisian Austin (19) and James Taylor (21) set the home side a target of 139. Saliya Withana (3 for 22)was the pick of the Pinkneys bowling.
In reply Pinkneys never really got going with Kerrod Burton taking his first Cookam Dean Wicket and Christian Austin bowling a super spell taking 3 for 10. There was some resistance from the middle order but two wickets each for Taylor and Powell ensured that there would only be one winner with underused spinner and dog lover Dave Brooks applying the "coup de grace" by bamboozling the last two Pinkneys batsmen with his wizardry!
Two out of two in the league, next up Braywood!!
