Match report Cookham Dean 3rd XI picked up an impressive 25 point win over Datchet after a top order collapse made them look likely to crumble to an easy defeat. Cookham won the toss and batted first on a warm day but were soon reeling at 9 for 3 as Mark Kirton, Alex Woolley and Nick Kellaway were all dismissed for 0 falling to decent catches off Bromley. This soon became 40-4 as Karthik Raghavan fell soon after. Skipper Jonathan Gay was going well though and joined at the crease by Adam Barratt playing his first senior game. They shared a partnership of 70 as Gay brought up his second league 50 of the season before falling to the medium pace of Beeby for 63. Barratt received useful support from John Gay who hit a quickfire 24 before falling lbw to Beeby and Ben Green who made 16. Barratt eventually fell for 70 and Dan Matthews also had time to get himself on the 6s league as Cookham were bowled out for a competetive 223.

Ben Green removed Platt and S Mohammed cheaply early on and a terrible mix-up between Beeby and Virmani saw Beeby run out, not before Kellaway and Woolley had almost made a mess of it though! Datchet skipper Wilson was caught behind off Matthews and he soon had Edgar caught at mid off as well as Datchet slumped to around 50 for 5. Virmani was clearly the key batsman for Datchet, as he hit strongly to the leg side, so the field dropped back. This slowed his scoring down and he eventually was caught and bowled by Magesh Dev after top edging it high in the air. He then had Reed caught at deep mid wicket as Cookham closed in an impressive victory. Shidlagatta and M Mohammed frustrated Cookham though before the former fell lbw to Satpal Singh's slow left arm bowling. Ali was run out by an outstanding throw by Matthews and it didn't take long before Singh picked up Bromley lbw for 0 as Datchet were bowled out for 138.
