POST SEASON AVAILABILITY, AWARDS EVENING, PLAYERS MEETING AND PUTTING GROUND TO BED

09 Sep 2013

Hi all,

First of all thanks a lot to Nunny for his efforts in organising Saturday night. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and plenty of hangovers lasted well into Sunday!

2013 has been a great season but unfortunately all three sides could only manage 3rd place in their respective leagues.  The 2nds and 3rds were particularly unfortunate as they missed out on promotion after finishing level on points with 2nd place. All of our sides can feel aggrieved by the hand the weather dealt them compared to their promotion rivals but that's just how cricket goes sometimes.

There are still three weekends of cricket to play though with friendles arranged for Saturdays and Sundays. Please update your availability on the website to help those organising the games with selection and make yourself available if you can...there's plenty of time not to play cricket in the off-season!

On Friday 20th September the colts and senior awards night will take place at the club. All are welcome so get to the club from around 6pm onwards if you can.

Friday 27th September is the date for the players meeting from 8pm at the club. This is a particularly important meeting and allows players the opportunity to discuss what they would like to see done at the club and elect captains for the 2014 season. Nominations are being accepted now so please get in touch with me if you would like to get involved and stand for a position.

Finally, local karaoke sensation David Stringer would like your assistance with 'putting the ground to bed' for the winter. This will be taking place from around 10am on Saturday 5th October. If you can spare any time at all on this day, it would be really helpful if you can attend to help get everything sorted for winter.

Thanks,

Jonathan Gay
