GENTS DINNER FRIDAY 8TH APRIL

11 Feb 2011

This year's CDCC Gentlemen's Dinner will take place on Friday 8th April at the clubhouse from 7.30pm. Tickets are £30 for a four course dinner, please contact Mark Fish at mark_helen@hotmail.com to book your place.

The speaker this year is former Glamorgan and Sussex batsman Tony Cottey who made 277 First Class appearances between 1986 and 2004. He scored 14,567 runs, which included 31 centuries at an average of 36.69. His highest score of 203 came against Leicestershire in 1996 at his home ground of Swansea. Cottey also is one of the few players to win County Championship medals with two different counties, with Glamorgan in 1997 and with Sussex in 2003 after he had moved there in 1998.

Prior to his cricket career, Cottey was also on the books of Swansea City Football Club and made three appearances for them during the 1984-85 season. Since retiring from cricket, he has established himself as an after dinner speaker and released his autobiography entitled, 'There's Only 2 Tony Cotteys' in 2008.
