A Cookham Dean squad crashed out of the group stages in the Windsor 6s at Home Park on Friday afternoon. The Cookham side was made up of
Rory Millar,
Jonathan Gay,
Mark Fish,
Patrick Castleden,
Oliver Freeman and
Isaac Richardson. The Dean were drawn in a strong group against Chesham, who included Kenya bowler Peter Ongonodo in their ranks, and 'The Throwbacks', a side made up mostly of Windsor 1st team players dressed in cricket attire of the 70s and 80s.
In the first game Cookham made 48 and lost in the first over to Chesham. The 2nd game saw Ollie Freeman take a hat-trick with the first three balls of the match against Throwbacks, who posted 45. Cookham chased this down in the last over thanks mainly to Rory Millar and Patrick Castleden.
The second round of matches against the same opposition saw Cookham on the receiving end of hammerings as Chesham posted 79 and 80 respectively. In each game Cookham stuttered to scores of around 45-50 as they failed to make the semi finals stage.
