The team only needed 13-points to guarantee promotion, so the 20 points taken from the game ensured that the team will be playing in division 5B next season. Aldershot batted first and got 184-6 in their 52 overs, Rob Mettler the best bowler with 3 wickets. In reply, the Dean were always well up with the run-rate and despite the loss of 5 wickets, a fine innings of 64* by Simon D'ardenne guided the side to victory with 8 overs to spare.
