THE FUTURE’S BRIGHT

We are immensely proud of all our young players at CDCC and throughout the season they have again enhanced our reputation for Club and County.

The Under 12’s are enjoying another successful year. We are the Bucks Division 1 South champions. Played 8...Won 8 and that means we now face Great Brickhill - winners of the North division - in the county final on Wednesday August 29th.

That final is at Great Brickhill (5-o-clock start) ....please support the team if you can.

All 15 boys have made significant contributions. We have seen runs from Louis Stewart, James Isbell, Alfie Agar, Sam Smith and Thomas Hepworth and some excellent bowling from Luca Thomas, Luke Cairns, Ollie Taylor and Matt Dempster.

The fielding and attitude of all the boys have been exemplary.

Now we are just one game away from extending our 100 per cent record  in Buckinghamshire competitions over the last three years - what a great record that is!

CDCC have also played in the Berkshire Under 13 Division 1 and have performed well against older players. Our aim is to provide the boys with fresh situations and challenges.

Louis Stewart and Ollie Taylor (both 12) have played for the Fourth X1 ...Alfie Agar(11), Matt Dempster, Luca Thomas and Luke Cairns (all 12) have represented the Under 15’s.

Matt, Luca and Luke all took wickets and Alfie top scored in his match(36).

Seven CDCC Boys have made an impression for Berkshire Under 11’s and 12’s. At the Shrewsbury Festival Louis Stewart made a solid 54 for the Under 12’s and took five for 19 against Derbyshire. Ollie also enjoyed the Cheltenham experience.

For Berkshire Under 11’s James Isbell was the leading run scorer plundering 495 (top score 97 not out) ....Alfie was second on 381 (top score 74) and Jake Lawson fourth for the season on 205 (top score 76).

Elliott Saunders and Sam Smith both did well with bat and ball as CDCC won BOTH the main Festival and the T20 competition at the Shrewsbury Festival.

We will recognise all these achievements on a special night at the club later in the season.
